Make a Call

In just a couple minutes, you can make a powerful impact. Legislators take calls from people very seriously.

Please call Representative Stephen Hambley at 614-466-8140. He is the chair of the Ohio House Civil Justice Committee, so he can decide whether to advance the Ohio Fairness Act. Since this issue impacts all Ohioans, he needs to hear from all of us, regardless of your district.

You will likely speak to an aide, or if it’s after hours, you’ll leave a voicemail.

Say something like this:

Hello. My name is _____, and I am calling to ask Representative Hambley to move forward the bipartisan Ohio Fairness Act, which will give our state a competitive edge in the labor market and fight Ohio’s brain drain. The bill is simple. It adds sexual orientation and gender identity and expression to the laws protecting Ohioans from discrimination. No one should fear discrimination simply because of who they are or who they love. Now more than ever, it is important that Ohio makes it clear that the Buckeye State is open for business for ALL. Please bring the Ohio Fairness Act, HB369, to a vote in the Civil Justice Committee as soon as possible.
