Take Action: Call Senator Portman!

In just a couple minutes, you can make a powerful impact. Legislators take calls from people very seriously.

Please call Senator Rob Portman at 614-469-6774 and ask him to support the Equality Act. He is a key leader in the US Senate and may be a deciding vote on the Equality Act. Many offices, including Senator Portman’s, have been inundated with calls from those who oppose LGBTQ+ equality, sometimes receiving 10 calls for every one call that supporters make due to the large amount of money that opposition groups are spending to stop the Equality Act. We need to fight back.

You will likely speak to an aide, or if it’s after hours, you’ll leave a voicemail.

Say something like this:

My name is [name] and I am calling to ask Senator Portman to support the Equality Act and work with his colleagues to make sure that it passes the Senate as soon as possible. The Equality Act is so important to businesses and families like mine across Ohio, and passing it will show LGBTQ  people here and abroad that the United States protects and supports all its people.
