Senior State Advocacy Manager

Equality Ohio is looking for our next Senior State Advocacy Manager. This is a key member of our state advocacy team, which, as a trusted statewide LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, leads statewide legislative engagement on issues related to LGBTQ+ rights by monitoring legislative activity, analyzing new and changing legislative language, convening and training community members to advocate directly to decision-makers, and educating community members about LGBTQ+ related bills. This work requires close collaboration with Ohio’s community leaders, social justice and LGBTQ+ organizations, faith communities, unions, and businesses, as well as elected officials across the political spectrum.

Equity Commitment

Studies have shown that women, non-binary folks, and People of Color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every single one of the qualifications as described in a job description. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization, and we are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job. That candidate may be one who comes from a background less traditional to our field of work, and that’s okay. We would strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don’t believe you meet every one of the qualifications described.

People of color, LGBTQ+ people, and those with gender-expansive identities are strongly encouraged to apply.
