Dr. Herb Asher is professor emeritus of political science at The Ohio State University. He previously served as counselor to the university president, and Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and earlier served as special assistant to the university president for government relations and founding director of the John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy.
He is currently serving in the position of Retiree-Faculty Emeritus in the Office of Academic Affairs where his responsibilities include writing the history of The Ohio State University during the second Gordon Gee administration and advising the University President on relevant political matters. Dr. Asher is frequently called upon as an expert political analyst by local and national media. He still teaches an occasional course on Ohio Politics and on Campaign Politics.
