Julie VanDyne lives in Lima Ohio with her wife Robyn. She graduated in 1980 from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. She received her Master of Business Administration from Capital University in 1985. She is a registered professional engineer in Ohio, as well as 22 other states. They have two grown sons that are pursuing careers in Astronautical Engineering and Audio Production.
Upon graduation from college, she spent 14 years working for American Electric Power in various positions in engineering, marketing, and management. She left there in 1994 to go into consulting. After working for a local firm for five years, she struck out on her own and founded her own company, IDC Engineering which is now entering its 15th year. They are involved in industrial electrical power engineering projects throughout the United States.
She has been involved in a number of organizations, including the Aids Task Force in Lima Ohio, where she served as treasurer and member of the board. She has also been active with civic groups, and is past president of the Lima Noon Sertoma. When not traveling, she loves spending time at home, staying active, playing guitar, riding motorcycles with Roby, and learning to sail their boat: “Defying Gravity.”
