Equality Ohio Presents First Nonpartisan Statewide Candidate Forum for Ohio LGBTQ+ Community (September 29th)
COLUMBUS (Sept. 22) – Equality Ohio will be hosting our first ever 2022 Nonpartisan Statewide Candidate Forum on September 29th from 5 to 9 pm EDT. Selected statewide candidates from both major political parties have received invitations to the event including: U.S. Senate, Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor, Attorney General, Chief Justice and Justice candidates.
We look forward to talking to the following candidates who have confirmed their participation:

Tim Ryan (Represented by Surrogate)
Jeff Crossman (Represented by Allison Russo)
Taylor Sappington
Justice Jennifer Brunner
Judge Terri Jamison
Judge Marilyn Zayas
“We are proud to invite candidates from both parties who are running for state offices that impact LGBTQ+ equality to our ground-breaking forum, and recognize who is taking time to show up, and who is not. The evening is set to advance our goal of understanding each candidate’s position on civil rights, equal protections, and issues that are important to our community,” said Equality Ohio Public Policy Director Maria Bruno. “We are confident that this will be an invaluable opportunity for Ohio voters to learn about what they’ll see on their ballots in November.”
The in-person audience will be limited to a small group of invited community members due to limited seating. It will live stream on Facebook and Youtube for the general public. Community members can get involved by submitting questions to the candidates (whether they have RSVP’d or not) via our online form by Sunday September 25th at 11:59 pm EDT.
